ZACH WAHLS GUEST OF HONOR AT LOVE HONOR CHERISH FOUNDATION BENEFIT
Los Angeles (January 18, 2012)—
Zach Wahls will come to San Francisco on Sunday, January 22, in support of Love Honor Cherish Foundation and NOH8 Campaign’s new viral public education campaign. The twenty-year-old son of a same-sex couple who proudly testified in a public hearing regarding a proposed constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage in Iowa became a social media sensation just hours after his speech was posted on YouTube. To date, the video now has close to twenty million views and became YouTube’s #1 political video of the year in 2011 since it launched one year ago.
“I’m excited to come to San Francisco and speak about my family and the inequality of denying marriage in California where gays and lesbians still wait since the passing of Proposition 8 in 2008,” said Wahls.
In a bold move to drive marriage equality forward, Love Honor Cherish Foundation and NOH8 Campaign have teamed up to launch a new viral public education campaign to encourage activists to tell their stories about why we should have marriage equality today and the impact that waiting has had on the lives of LGBT families.
The benefit and launch will take place at Vessel-San Francisco from 6-11 pm on January 22. Wahls, as well as NOH8 Co-Founders Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley will be in attendance for the special event.
